"Look after Dennis when Mummy is busy and when you go to school be a good boy and look after yourself and look both ways when crossing the road."
This letter was sent to my dad, uncle and grandmother while my grandad who was in 6th Battalion Cheshire regiment was serving in the Second World War. We think he was based in Benghazi in February 1944.
It was a letter wishing my dad and uncle happy birthday.
Ronald Maynard
It was given to my dad who is no longer alive, years ago and my mum has it amongst my grandad’s army records and list of medals my grandad received.
