Romey Spurin to her future husband

When my mother and father died in 2007, we found hundreds of letters in the loft between mother and father, who were courting during the 2nd World War. The letters are mostly about nature, wildlife and the four seasons and not a great deal of interest except for this letter written on May 7th 1945 at 11.40pm.

My mother was a nurse at Guy’s Hospital, London, then aged 23, when she wrote this particular letter to my father.
