"By the way Jack I’ve just noticed you’re an A.C./1 now. Congratulations old pal. I hope the old Props follow real soon. Cheerio."
The owner of the letter returned it to my mother after my dad passed in the early 1980s. My mother passed several years later and the letter was in her belongings.

I can't think of anything else this time Jack so I suppose that I shall have to close this short letter. Dont forget what I've told you and be sure and call for me on the night of the 23rd. (Tuesday). If you dont get down then I shall be expecting you at the chapel. Whatever you do pal dont let me down will you.
Well I'll say cheerio for now Jack but I'll write again real soon. Remember me to your mother and father in your next letter and tell your father that I hope to see him at the "Golden Lion" during my leave and have another drink with him (me pay this time) dont forget to tell him.
Look after yourself Jack and all the best of luck to you. See you at Xmas.
With best regards,
From your old pal,
Reg
