Mum died in 2022 aged 94 and I found a box containing letters from our Dad who died in 1990.
In the box with her will and funeral instructions was this coming home letter. He seems so wonderfully optimistic, and eager to come back from Italy.
He was a Gunner in 2nd Medium Regt RA Lincolnshire, also posted to Gibraltar defending against air and sea, also driving troop trucks in Italy.
