Jack Gray to his sweetheart

The love letter is written from my dad to my mum whist he was in Ceylon.

Mr Dearest Sweetheart,

here it Sunday morning. if only I was home now, I should be down there you, well I do not know if I would be helping you or not wether you would be tormenting like you used to do, I only wish that day would hurry up come when I get back home again and then Darling there will be no more coming down [unclear] on Sunday mornings to [unclear] you, it will be "it's you turn to get up early this morning [unclear]". what do you think Mr Groy its my day off to-day Eh Darling.

Well I support you have received the other letter card and you think I am a miserable old 'so and so'. No Darling it is that I love you that much, that makes me jealous of anybody even to dance with you. I cannot help it, its in me and I suppose I show it. It’s grand just to sit here at times and think that you are waiting back home for me, when I’m browned off I just look at your photo, and then I feel brighter again, because I know that I have got....
