My Grandmother received this letter from my Grandfather three days after he had died.
My Grandmother was heavily pregnant with my Uncle Peter who she gave birth too a day or so after she was informed he was killed in action. The letter is addressed to my Grandmother and my Mother (his daughter ) aged about 5.
Although my Grandmother remarried 10 years later, she never got over her loss. When she was in her 80’s I accompanied her along with my Uncle Peter and her three other Grandchildren to visit his grave in Tunisia.
