I was aware of this birthday card that was sent to my Father, Michael, on his 9th birthday whilst he was evacuated to Inverness, Scotland. The family home was in Woodford, Essex.
It was sent to him by his Father, Walter Smith, who was a fireman in the West Ham fire brigade in the City of London during the blitz.
I found the card in my Father’s possessions after he passed away in January 2025.
