"I'm missing you terribly and praying we will be together soon"
We have two letters my dad had written to my mum in 1944. Dad was in the Navy during the 2nd world war, he was stationed abroad a lot. The first letter he wrote from America. The letters are lovely. When I read them I cried, they were beautiful love letters. I have lots of photographs of dad during his time in The war he was on the artic convoy, he was also in Singapore when the signing of the treaty was done.
I am one of 7. My eldest sister was born in August 1945 and I am the 2nd youngest born in 1961. Mum passed away at 100 in January this year. She would have been 101 in February. She was an amazing mother and my dad was an amazing father. He passed away 15 years ago at the age of 86.
