This note written by my Father to my Maternal Grandmother in Fareham, Hants, is to thank her for caring for my Mother during her pregnancy. It is dated 10th January 1943. I was born on 18th January 1943.
I think he may have been in North Africa at the time. The result he didn’t know about was my birth.
This was found amongst my late Grandmother’s effects with her will in 1974.
The accompanying photo was taken in Cairo it shows my father (in shorts) with his friend in 1942-43
