My now deceased aunt kept a number of letters after living with my grandparents for many years.

Dear Frances & John

I received your two air mails that you sent on the 5 and 8 of Aug and I am glad that everything is going along alright and that your health is keeping O.K. as I am still in the pink out here and getting plenty of graphs for I wish I could send you some for they are cheat out here and so are the cigarettes for we do alright for them as well but darling I am looking forward to the day when I have you in my arms again for that will be the day of days for both of us and I bet John will be glad for out here we see some lovely things but not as good as dear old England for that will be the time when we have a good old pint together like we did on our last leave what a time we had and now I am going to bed so I will say good night and god bless you all
